The company had grown their business through the acquisition
of multiple independent companies located in 17 cities primarily
across the southeastern United States. These companies were
operating on five different platforms making corporate reporting
and analysis difficult.
The first phase of the project was to determine and prioritize
the organizations business requirements. ISI then prepared and
executed a RFP, coordinating vendor responses and demos. Once
the package was selected ISI became involved in performing the
actual conversions.
Once the conversions were complete the focus turned to the data
being collected. The client had several goals.
• The ability to provide corporate management with consolidated
financial reports
• Increased timeliness and accuracy of executive reporting.
• Improve cash flow and economies of scale through consolidated
billing and collection operations
• Centralized backup of all pertinent remote database
information.
This effort required the implementation of a centralized
database designed for managing customer, order, billing, and
payment information organized by office. ISI provided both the
technical and functional design and then managed the development
effort
ISI implemented the nightly polling of remote office locations
and the transmission of the extracted customer and financial
transaction information to the corporate data warehouse for
import and processing.
The final phase of the project included design and
implementation of an executive reporting system for use by
corporate personal. Report calculations were performed from the
data warehouse in batch mode to facilitate timely delivery the
