The client was concerned that critical business applications
could not function in the event of a major disruption at its
main data processing location. These applications support a
large network of remote sites.
ISI was asked to review the current plan including the
development of a systems inventory. This inventory was analyzed
in terms of overall business continuity rather than just
disaster recovery. Each system was examined for possible
workarounds and a ranking of each system was developed in
relation to how long the system could be unavailable before
severe hardships were incurred. n
ISI the assisted in the selection of a Disaster Recovery partner
who would host critical applications if required. ISI the worked
with the vendor to test the plan and verify that mission
critical systems could be made available in the timeframe
required
